Diane Lane is in Need

Diane Lane (Unfaithful, Under the Tuscan Sun) has come aboard to star in Sony-based Escape Artists' Need. No director is on board, but production is slated to begin early next year.

Lane will star as a successful New York therapist who discovers that one of her patients -- a suicidal woman named Beth -- is having an affair with her husband.

The co-starring role has yet to be cast. Chloe King wrote the script, which is based loosely on Lawrence David's novel of the same name. Jon Bokenkamp rewrote the material.
