Revolution Studios has tapped Broadway director Jack O'Brien ("Hairspray") to helm Slammer with Sara Goodman to pen the script.
The dark comedy centers on an imprisoned female publicist who attempts to spin a positive image of jail by producing an inmate talent show.
O'Brien won the Tony Award last June for "Hairspray" after having been nominated previously for "The Full Monty," "The Invention of Love," "Two Shakespearean Actors" and "Porgy and Bess." Goodman just signed a deal with Paramount to write Dance Lessons as a potential starring vehicle for Jennifer Lopez.
